Our host was the Kino Border Initiative (KBI), a binational organization sponsored by the Society of Jesus, which provides humanitarian assistance to migrants and offers educational programming for scholars and others interested in learning about local, regional, and national immigration policies. We urge everyone to check out their web site and to support KBI’s efforts via donations, advocacy, and volunteer projects.

Friends, colleagues, and supporters contributed over $13,000 to KBI before and during our March 2019 trip there. Those funds went to support the construction of a new Migrant Outreach Center that KBI is building just across the street from the comedor where we served.
